La Geria

The largest vineyard in the Canary Islands named "La Geria" is located on the edge of the "Timanfaya" national park. The Picon, the moisture-absorbing volcanic ash covers Mother Earth here and provides natural irrigation. Lanzarote does not have significant amounts of groundwater. Nevertheless, dry-farming techniques in this cultural landscape produce around five million litres of wine a year.
