Description

After the pick-up, we will cross Vilaflor on the way to the National Park. Teide National Park, which stands 3,718 metres above sea level and 7,500 metres above the ocean floor, ranks as the highest peak in Spain and the third highest volcano in the world. UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site on 28 June 2007, and that same year it was also named one of the 12 Treasures of Spain. In addition, it is a protected natural area, classified as a Natural Monument. Upon arrival at the National Park We will visit Llano de Ucanca and Roques de García. At Llano de Ucanca viewpoint you can enjoy one of the most stunning views of Teide National Park at all times of the year, as each of them is unique. This is the best place to take the greatest photos of Teide, Pico Viejo and the unique landscape that encloses the area. It has ripples in red, brown, and grey shades, with the pinnacles towering over the plain. For many years, the Teide and Roques de García used to be the symbols of the ancient legal tender banknotes: the pesetas. These are a series of rock formations created from the accumulation of several materials. Before erosion, these rock masses formed a wall which separated both calderas of Las Cañadas, still visible in the rock formations of "La Catedral"
