Theft

A brief moment is enough to make a purse or even a handbag change hands. Be extra careful at all vantage points and gatherings of people, it cannot be said often enough - but you cannot imagine how often it happens anyway. If you really have become a victim, you need to act fast and keep a cool head. You can also report the theft in English by calling the Spanish emergency number (0034) 902 102 112. The report will then be faxed to the nearest or desired police station for signature. It is important to ask for a copy of the report. It can later be submitted to credit card companies, banks, passport and driving licence agencies, or even as a replacement document for your departure if the ID card was stolen. However, be careful with Ryanair or Easyjet, which often do not accept it. In this case, the only option is to go to the embassy.
